We tend put a lot of focus on ourselves. We come to Jesus in prayer, because we want him to move in our life. Sometimes though, we get so wound up thinking about our own problems that we forget to pray for those who are most dear to us. Worse still, we forget to express exactly how thankful we are for all the blessings that he’s given us.
Today, I wanted to dedicate my prayers to express just how thankful I am. I’m thankful for all the wonderful things and people that he’s brought to my life. If you really think about it these are not only gifts that he has given us, they very well could be the tools being used to bring us closer to him.
The following prayer is personal to me. All things that I pray for may not be available in the season of life that you’re in right now. But as you read through it, you should think about those things which have come into your life which brought you to where you are today. You should reflect and consider how they contributed to the person that you are now.
Once you step back and take a look, you can start to get a glimpse of the bigger picture. We can sometimes even see a small glimpse of a much bigger plan that God has for our lives. Most likely you’ll start to feel a swell of thankfulness in your heart. After that, and help from the spirit, you can go to God in prayer with true thanksgiving and a fire in your heart like you’ve never felt before.
Let’s take a moment to rest our minds. Let’s clear them of any noise that the world has forced in. Together let’s worship our Lord before we come to him in prayer.
