More often than not, I find that I really don’t appreciate the good things that are going on in my life. I get so caught up in all the little bad things that I never take a step back and absorb all the good. I would even say I’m too worried about the next big catastrophe awaiting me around the next corner…
I know I’m not alone in this. Once we get in this mindset, its near impossible to break from the thinking. But through Christ all things are possible. We need to work towards a life of appreciation and worship. It’s only when we give our live to Jesus, and truly follow him that we find peace in our hearts. Only then can we have a true appreciation for the good in our lives.
This is not the way God intended our lives to be.
Luke 12: 22-31 | 22 Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. 23 For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. 24 Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! 25 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? 26 Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest? 27 “Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 28 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith! 29 And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. 30 For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. 31 But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 | Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
Father,
Forgive me of my sins, as I forgive those who sin against me.
Father thank you for all the good things you bring into my life. I’m so sorry for not giving you the credit that you deserve, the credit for all the good things you give me. The credit for all the times you’ve walked with me in my alleys and for the help you give me to pulling me up from those situations.
Lord, I am grateful. I take this moment to reflect on all these good things in my life. Help me father, in my day-to-day, see past the little obsticles in fornt of me and be encouraged that you have a plan for me. Remind me, in those moments of weakness, that you do all things for my good.
In Jesus name I pray,
Amen.
